Molly was our very first beagle and came from Joe Peavler of Hill Country Kennel in Oklahoma. She's out of a cross that produced some excellent rabbit dogs.
She's a super-fast, hard hunter and easy to handle. Unfortunately she got pyometra and had to be spayed before we ever got a litter from her.
Update July '07: Molly suffered a back injury which has reduced the amount of time she gets to spend as the leader of our pack, but she still gives 110% when we do cut her loose.
He has an excellent nose and hunts slower than Molly. He is a rock solid little bundle of muscle.
When he's not hunting he enjoys sleeping on the back of the couch and playing with his toys.
Update Nov '03: Kody was entered in his first (and so far only) UKC hunt and show. He was second place on his cast with 100+. He didn't catch the eye of the judge in the show, but he sure got some nice compliments from fellow beaglers and spectators.
Squirt is our third beagle from Joe Peavler. She prefers to run hot tracks or sight races, especially on jacks. She'd rather let the other dogs grub out a colder track but will be right there when it heats up.
She's got a ton of speed and a high-pitched fast chop mouth that really carries.
Star is the pup we kept from the first litter of beagles whelped here at Rincon (formerly Chisum-Trail) Kennel. She's a slower hunter and will take cottontail tracks as readily as jacks, just like her dad. She's ready to go as soon as she sees the shotgun and has a nice bawl mouth.
We will be focusing on our coonhounds and at this time we don't have plans to raise any more beagle litters.
